US students launch summer camp in Thua Thien-Hue
Seventy six US doctors and students of Vietnamese origin are gathering
at a week-long summer camp in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue,
starting from July 2.
Seventy six US doctors and students of Vietnamese origin are gathering at a week-long summer camp in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, starting from July 2.
The programme is being jointly held by the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM) under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, the American Academy of Pediatrics/Project Vietnam -APP and the Vietnam Youth Union in Hue city.
The US delegation joined the Vietnam Youth Union in Hue city to have fact-finding trips to several localities in the province in an effort to provide free checks-up and medicine for about 1,600 people and street children as well as tour of beautiful sites in the city.
Van Trung Dung, who is in charge of the programme, said this is a great opportunity for US students to improve their Vietnamese language and better understand, culture and people of the city in particular and Vietnam in general.
