Central Da Nang city plans to set up a natural disaster prevention and control fund worth 8.4 billion VND (403,200 USD).
The fund, supported by a donation from the US-based institute of Social and Environmental Transition, will use capital turnover to build and upgrade storm-schelters as well as support local households vulnerable to climate change.
It will also be used to improve public awareness on the impact of climate change, especially among local women’s association members.
The project will be implemented in four districts, including Son Tra, Lien Chieu, Ngu Hang Son and Hoa Vang from 2011-14./.
