Yellen was impressed by the electronic motorcycles manufactured in Vietnam. She was delighted to know that two founders of Selex Motors used to study at the University of Michigan, in the United States.
It, according to her, is the empirical evidence of blooming relations between Vietnam and the US. Currently, around 30,000 Vietnamese students are studying in the United States, Yellen says. The Vietnamese community there has also positively contributed to strengthening bilateral relations, she adds.
Yellen stressed the significance of bilateral cooperation in promoting energy transition. She was excited to ride the EV made by Selex Motors and experiencing one of its charging stations.
Selex Motors is a start-up in Electronic Vehicles production. It was founded in June, 2018.
What makes Selex Motors stand out from other EV producers is its “Battery ATM for EVs”. Selex is the pioneer in applying this model in Vietnam.
“Selex’s battery is compact but has a large capacity. It is water resistant and compatible with most EVs in the market. We are aiming at a complete battery exchanging infrastructure that allows all EVs to share batteries.”
Selex Motors now has 44 battery exchange stations nationwide, 20 in Hanoi and 24 in Ho Chi Minh City. Notably, Selex Motors in April, 2023 managed to issue 3 million USD of convertible bonds for large investment funds, including ADB Ventures./.
