The American Telecommunication Certification Body (ATCB) has reported that a number of US agencies and companies together with Vietnamese partners will organise a Conference on Environment Solutions backed by American Technology in Hanoi on May 25.

The conference is designed to provide a showcase of models, technologies and applications from the US environmental industry that can benefit Vietnam ’s economic development goals.

The report said: "We are bringing a trade delegation to the conference and working with key US government agencies, the US Embassy and the Embassy of Vietnam to that end. We expect key decision makers from various government ministries and US and Vietnamese businesses to attend. "The conference will take a comprehensive look at the key environmental and climate change issues from different vantage points, presented by both business and government stakeholders. There is a real need for the solutions that will be presented and we will work with key business, scientific, research and funding groups to provide solutions that will most helpful to Vietnam."

Organisers include the American Council of Independent Laboratories, the Maryland-Asia Environmental Partnership, the Washington Laboratories, the American Telecommunication Certification Body, the I.M. Systems Group, the Columbia Analytical Services Inc., the Whiteford Taylor Preston, the Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands and the Vietnam Directorate for Standards and Quality.

The report also said that the conference is timely as Vietnam strives to become Southeast Asia ’s destination of choice for business and tourism.
