The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided 800,000 USD for a project to reduce risks from avian and pandemic influenza and other emerging infectious diseases in Vietnam.

The project will be implemented by applying the One Health approach from now to September 2015.

USAID, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will work together to carry out the project.

Vietnam has implemented One Health since 2010. It involves applying a multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral approach to address risks that originate at the animal – human – ecosystem interface.-VNA
