Van An claims opening stage at cycling tour

The young rider of An Giang Plant Protection finished the 167km tour from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet city in Binh Thuan province with a time of 4hr 13.37min to take the yellow jersey.

Chau Hong Hau of Military Zone 7 and Nguyen Minh Luan of ADC-Vinh Long Television 2 came second and third, respectively.

Le Minh Nguyet of Eximbank- Ho Chi Minh City took the green jersey with 18 points.

His team topped the team ranking with 12:41.01, followed by BTV Binh Duong and An Giang.

The second stage on November 18 will cover 157km from Phan Thiet to Phan Rang – Thap Cham.

The annual tournament, organised by the radio Voice of Ho Chi Minh City People, drew 65 cyclists from 13 teams who will tour 850km through five cities and provinces. The race is divided into seven stages, the final stage will start on November 23.-VNA
