Vanuatu Prime Minister Joe Natuman left Ho Chi Minh City on October 9, concluding his five day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart, Nguyen Tan Dung.

During his stay in Vietnam, the Vanuatu PM held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart, Nguyen Tan Dung, and paid a courtesy visit to President Truong Tan Sang. In their meetings, the two sides informed each other of their respective country’s development, and expressed their pleasure at friendship between the two countries.

The leaders said that the two countries have a lot of potential for cooperation, and agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at levels and encourage people-to-people activities.

Referring to regional and global issues, they highly valued mutual support and coordination at forums, and vowed to continue to work together in multilateral mechanisms, such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Francophone community.

During the visit, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on technical cooperation and development.

As part of his visit to Vietnam, PM Natuman toured HCM City and met with Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, visited several cultural and historical establishments in Hanoi and HCM City.-VNA
