At the service, Vietnamese and Venezuelan friends read poems praising the late President and the two nations’ relationship.

According to Ambassador Jorge Rondon Uzcategui, despite the geographical distance between them, the solidarity and friendship between the Venezuelan and Vietnamese people have been unceasingly consolidated and developed.

The two countries’ long-lasting friendship has been nurtured by their leaders and people, including supporting each other in their struggles for independence, he said.

President Hugo Chavez Rias died of cancer on March 5, 2013 at the age of 58.-VNA
