President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on July 27 presented gifts to needy children in Phu Quoc island district, the southern province of Kien Giang.

Among 113 recipients, 13 are children of officers from the High Command of Naval Zone 5.

Those living with life-threatening diseases received 3 million VNDeach (142 USD) while others were given 500,000 VND (23 USD).

On the occasion, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children donated over1.2 billion VND (50,000 USD) to local underprivileged children.-VNA

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.
