Hanoi (VNA) –
Improving the efficiency of communications campaigns and further promoting the synergy of the national great unity bloc will be key affairs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) from now till year-end, heard a conference of the Presidents of the VFF chapters in Hanoi on June 22.

Other priorities include implementing campaigns and patriotic movements, promoting democracy, protecting legitimate rights of people, participating in Party and authority building, along with undertaking the supervisory and social critique provider role.

At the same time, the VFF will extend and improve the efficiency of people-to-people diplomacy, and finalise the operation mechanism currently used by the front system and raise its capacity, he added.

Addressing the event, newly-appointed President of the VFF Central Committee Tran Thanh Man noted that the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government and the VFF Presidium signed a resolution on forms of supervising and critiquing social affairs.

The resolution concretised Articles 27 and 34 of the Law on Vietnam Fatherland Front which sailed through the legislature on June 9, 2015 and took effect since January 1, 2016.

The document is expected to make it clearer supervising and critiquing mechanisms of the VFF as well as social-political organisations, he said, calling on the VFF chapters at different levels, especially their heads, to display a high sense of responsibility for the implementation of the resolution.

Delegates at the conference pointed out challenges to the front work, campaigns and patriotic movements, especially in social order and safety, and food hygiene.-VNA
