Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh made a field trip to the obstetrics-paediatrics hospital of Ca Mau province on February 27 as part of her working visit to the southernmost locality.

She congratulated the hospital’s staff on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27), and lauded the outstanding development the hospital has recorded over the past decade.

The hospital is operating at its full capacity, which reflects professional skills as well as medical ethics of doctors here, Thinh stressed.

The same day, she presented 200 gift packages worth 520 million VND (22,427 USD) to social policy beneficiaries, and 200 others to disadvantaged children in the locality.

Earlier, Thinh visited officers and soldiers of the Dat Mui border guard station in Ngoc Hien district.

The Vice President asked the border guard force of Ca Mau and the Dat Mui station in particular to keep close contact with the local people and join hands with local administrations in sustainable poverty reduction, so as to maintain security and order in the localities.

She extended the greetings of Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong to border guards in Ca Mau on the occasion of the 61st Traditional Day of the Border Guard and the 31st Day of All-People Border Defence (March 3)./.
