Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan presented gifts to underprivileged children as part of the programme “ Thap sang nhung uoc mo ” (Keep your dreams alive) in Hanoi on June 15.

The children, many of whom are disabled, come from Hanoi, the northern provinces of Bac Giang, Lao Cai, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong and the central province of Thanh Hoa, with many of them living without parental care.

Despite their circumstance, many of them are still striving to excel, especially in school.

Co-hosted by the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Child Rights (VAPCR) and the humanitarian television centre, the event coincided with the National Action Month for Children.

Earlier, the VAPCR and philanthropists donated gifts to thousands of children living in special difficulties in 10 cities and provinces nationwide.-VNA
