Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan received a delegation of the Australian Political Exchange Council, headed by Dr. Andrew Laming in Hanoi on Nov. 8.

Affirming that young people are a major labour force and hold the key to the country’s future, Vice State President praised the development of the relationship between the council and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, especially in improving capacity and creating resources for young leaders from each country.

She said that the relationship between the two organisations makes active contributions to the development of Vietnam-Australia ties.

She expressed thanks to the Australian government and people for their cooperation and assistance to Vietnam in its national construction and development, as well as the Vietnamese community in Australia .

Dr. Andrew Laming said Australia and Vietnam share many similarities and comparable advantages and can assist each other in common development. Vietnam is an attractive destination for Australian visitors and the country has a plentiful resource of young workers to supply Australia .

He said he and his delegation will explain Vietnam ’s experiences in mobilising young people to take part in national development./.
