Hanoi (VNA) - Nguyen Thi Anh Vienwon two bronze medals at the Asian Swimming Championship, which closed on November 20 in Tokyo, Japan.

Vien came in third with a time of 2 min 12.95 sec in the women’s 200m individual medley.

Japanese Ohashi Yui took the gold medal with a time of 2:11.46, which is the championship’s new record. Her teammate Imai Runa claimed the silver medal witha time of 2:12.58. Hours later she finished third in the 800m event, clocking 8:38.21.

Chinese swimmers Hou Yawen (8:26.49) and Dong Jie (8:35.21) bagged gold andsilver, respectively. Earlier, Vien earned a gold medal and set arecord in the 400m IM as well as a bronze medal in the 200m freestyle.

In other events on November 20, Le Nguyen Paul and Tran Duy Khoi finished No 5 and No 6 in the men’s 100m backstroke final. As it was the final day of swimming, Vien’s achievements were also Vietnam’s results at the Tokyo tournament.-VNA
