Vietnam: 110 mln USD trade surplus with Indonesia

Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of 110 million USD with Indonesia for the second consecutive year in 2012.

Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of 110 million USD with Indonesia for the second consecutive year in 2012.

Bilateral trade turnover reached 4.6 billion USD, a year-on-yeardecrease of 0.02 percent compared with 4.606 billion USD in 2011.

Vietnam ’s export revenue to Indonesia was 2.358 billion USDlast year, a year-on-year decrease of 0.05 percent. Rice exportsgenerated revenue of 458 million USD, telephones and electroniccomponents generated 315 million USD.

Vietnamimported 2.247 million USD of goods from Indonesia in 2012,including 232 million USD in paper, and 142 million USD in cooking oil.It also bought machines and components, chemicals, computers andelectronic devices.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has outlined three scenarios for 2027–2030. Vietnam's tourism sector faces labour shortage

A 2026 survey by Hoteljob.vn found that nearly 90% of tourism businesses planned to recruit. In Ho Chi Minh City alone, 89.7% of businesses were hiring, while 71.8% said recruitment was difficult or very difficult. The biggest shortages were among frontline workers, particularly in housekeeping, engineering, food service, front-office operations, and kitchens.
