The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will add more flights to its schedule to meet the increasing demand of passengers over the forthcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, the most important event of most of Vietnamese.

It plans nine more flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from January 24 to 26 and between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang from January 24 to 28.

The number of flights on these two routes has so far increased by 45 percent compared to the normal schedule.

For the festive holidays, the airline has also launched promotional campaigns on several domestic routes.

Particularly, it offers a 20 percent airfare discount to passengers flying from February 11 to March 31 on domestic and Southeast Asian routes if they book online from January 31 to February 3.
