Vietnam Airlines buys jet fuel from Dung Quat Refinery

Vietnam Air Petrol Co., Ltd (Vinapo), a member of Vietnam Airlines has placed a 5,000-tonne per month order of jet fuel till the end of 2011 to the Dung Quat refinery.

The company received the first batch of the petrol on Oct. 12 to supply to airports in the central region.

The owner of Dung Quat refinery, the National Oil and Gas Group saidit will conduct negotiations with Vietnam Airlines on more purchase ofjet fuel for use in airports in the northern region. Usingdomestically-produced air petrol will help the national flag carriersave not only foreign currency but also time and costs fortransportation and storage.

With a capacity of4,000c.m of air petrol in 2011, Dung Quat, the country’s first refinery,can meet 50 percent of the total domestic demands.

Its air petrol has also been purchased by BP Singapore to be used in international flights since late 2010./ .
