A new direct air route from Hanoi to Chu Lai in the central region began on June 2, bringing the total number of domestic routes that Vietnam Airlines operates to 34.
It will schedule four flights a week to the Chu Lai, open economic zone in Quang Nam province on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Nguyen Sy Hung, the national carrier’s chairman said that this new route, along with the Ho Chi Minh City-Chu Lai route, will contribute to socio-economic development not only in Quang Nam and neighbouring Quang Ngai province where the Dung Quat Industrial Zone exists but also to all the other provinces in the central region./.
