- The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is working hard to increase security for flights to Europe, which will take place as scheduled, amid a series of bomb attacks in Brussels airport and metro station.

The airline asked its representative offices abroad to strengthen coordination with foreign authorities to increase examination at airports.

It also employed measures to support passengers on connecting flights to and from Belgium and others on flights between Vietnam and Europe in general.

As security at European airports has been tightened, entrance procedures could take more time. Therefore, passengers should prepare carefully all necessary documents and earnestly follow security regulations, Vietnam Airlines advised.

From now to March 31, Vietnam Airlines will offer passengers free-of-charge fare refunds, cancelations and changes for confirmed tickets on flights between Vietnam and Europe. Passengers can change the date of their flights until April 30.

Vietnam Airlines has 29 flights per week to Europe, including 11 to Paris (France), eight to Frankfurt (Germany), 5 to London (England) and 5 to Moscow (Russia).

A series of explosions ripped through the Brussels airport and a city metro station on March 22, killing at least 35 people and injuring more than 200 others.-VNA
