The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, will operation night flights during the upcoming Tet holiday to meet increasing demand for air travel and reduce airport overload.
The company will arrange an around-the-clock schedule for a number of flights just before and after Tet, between February 6-8 and from February 15-17.
The carrier plans to conduct 400 flights on February 8, an increase of 38 percent from the normal schedule and up 5 percent from the same period last year. It will also increase the number of flight to 430 on February 16, up 43 percent and 7 percent compared to its normal schedule and the same period last year respectively.
The Lunar New Year Day falls on February 10 this year.-VNA
