Vietnam always supports Laos in implementing development goals: Party chief

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam has affirmed that Vietnam always stands side by side and supports the Party, State and People of Laos in implementing the country's development goals.

Hanoi (VNA) - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam has affirmed that Vietnam always stands side by side and supports the Party, State and People of Laos in implementing the country's development goals.

The Party chief made the statement while hosting a reception in Hanoi on December 6 for Bounthong Chitmany, Permanent member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee’s Secretariat and State Vice President of Laos who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Bounthong reported to the General Secretary on the results of his working sessions with senior leaders of Vietnam during the visit. He affirmed that the two sides had very sincere exchanges in the spirit of comradeship on experiences in Party building work, assessed the situation of Vietnam - Laos cooperation, and discussed and agreed on directions to effectively implement the High-Level Agreement between the two Parties and two countries.

He informed the Vietnamese leader about the recent situation in Laos and sincerely thanked the Party, State and people of Vietnam for always providing great support and assistance to the Party, State and People of Laos in the past cause of national liberation as well as in the current cause of national construction and development. He affirmed that the Party, State and People of Laos will do their best, together with Vietnam, to preserve and nurture the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

Lam congratulated the important achievements Laos has achieved in recent times, especially the effective implementation of the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress and the successful assumption of the Chairmanship of ASEAN and AIPA-45, thereby enhancing the international reputation of Laos and ASEAN.

He expressed his confidence that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, headed by General Secretary and State President Thongloun Sisoulith, Laos will successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress, building a prosperous and thriving Laos.

Lam expressed his joy at the increasingly good development of the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. He thanked for the support and assistance that the Party, State and People of Laos have always given to the Party, State and people of Vietnam and hoped that the two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation for mutual development, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

The Party chief briefed the Lao leader on the recent situation in Vietnam, saying that Vietnam is making efforts to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, and preparing to hold the 14th National Party Congress - marking an important milestone, opening a new era - the emerging era of the Vietnamese people./.
