The heroism and patriotism of Vietnamese people are always a source of encouragement for the Mexican people, said a Mexican official.

President of the Mexican Institute for Friendship and Cooperation with Vietnam Virgilio Caballero made the affirmation at a recent reception in Mexico City for Nguyen Duy Cuong, member of the Presidium of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association (VCFA).

He said that Mexico is one of the two Latin American countries building two statues of President Ho Chi Minh.

He suggested the two sides consider building the statues of late Mexican President Benito Juarez in Hanoi and late President Vicente Guerrero in Hai Phong city.

Caballero expressed wish to promote the images of the Vietnamese land and people on mass media in Mexico .

For his part, Cuong agreed to strengthen friendship activities, including the exchange of experience and visits, thus expanding the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Earlier, the VCFA leader worked with President of the Mexico-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group Pedro Vazquez, who is also a Politburo member of the Labour Party of Mexico./.
