A photo exhibition entitled “Vietnam-ASEAN, Imprints 15 Years”, openedin Hanoi on July 20 as part of the activities on the sidelines ofthe 43 rd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM 43) and related meetings.
The exhibition aims to introduce typical and livelyimages of all the fields in the lives of Vietnam and other ASEANcountries, including social culture, science and technology, economics,politics, diplomacy and sports.
It includes photosof landmark events marking 15 years of Vietnam ’s accession to ASEAN,the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other ASEAN membercountries as well as Vietnam ’s positive contributions to the bloc.
These are marvellous images of Vietnam ’sparticipation in ASAEN over the past 15 years, said ASEAN GeneralSecretary Surin Pitsuwan.
He also emphasisedVietnam ’s contributions to ASEAN, saying that Vietnam has played anactive and useful role in ASEAN and its development also helps create adynamic ASEAN.
Co-organised by the VietnameseMinistry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnam News Agency, the exhibitionaims to contribute to the overall success of Vietnam’s 2010 ASEANChairman term and promote Vietnam, its Chairmanship and positivecontributions in the year as it assumes the position of ASEAN Chair aswell as mark 15 years of Vietnam’s accession to ASEAN and the 43 rdfounding anniversary of the grouping.
Theexhibition is taking place at the My Dinh National Conference Centreuntil July 23. The photos will be then exhibited at the Hanoi OperaHouse on August 7, 2010 on the occasion of the 15 th anniversary ofVietnam joining ASEAN./.
