A congress to set up the Vietnam Association of Female Entrepreneurs (VAFE) will be held in Hanoi from October 18-19.

At an October 11 press conference introducing the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa said the congress will draw the participation of 350 delegates from provincial women entrepreneurs’ associations and clubs, as well as groups and corporations.

The association aims to promote the capacity and role of businesswomen for the country’s sustainable development, offering a venue for them to share experience and improve their professional knowledge. It will also protect the legitimate interests of women entrepreneurs and workers in businesses.

Thoa said that the VAFE’s key task during its first term of 2014-2019 is to build itself into a centre that connects businesswomen from all economic sectors and inspires them to greater efforts in their work, thus contributing to the national development.

It will also serve as a bridge between the female entrepreneurs community and the Government and relevant agencies in building socio-economic policies, she added.-VNA
