Assistant to the Vietnamese Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung has attended the fourth conference of the Toronto Group held in Bern, Switzerland.
The assistant Minister appreciated the Toronto Group for creating a practical dialogue and cooperation forum for foreign ministries.
He shared Vietnam’s experience in mobilising and promoting the role of the private sector in external, political, economic and cultural activities, both inside and outside Vietnam.
Senior diplomatic officials from nearly 30 member countries focused on the challenges facing foreign affairs ministries in the context of rapid globalisation, particularly regarding personnel and finance.
The Toronto Group comprises of 30 member countries and meets every two years to discuss ways to improve the effectiveness of diplomatic ministries in the context of a rapidly changing world.
The group was formed under the initiative of Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs and met for the first time in 2009.-VNA
