Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Quang is attending the sixth World Water Forum that opened on March 12 in France’s southern city of Marseille.

Around 20,000 delegates from around 140 countries and territories will focus their discussion on the implementation of international, regional and local legal principles on water within the international community, the signing of new documents to raise the quality of managing water on and under the ground and the development and improvement of international cooperative mechanisms.

The establishment of sustainable financial mechanisms for regional organisations, the training of managers and policymakers, the compilation of cooperative documents for organisations with rivers, canals, lakes and ponds, and promoting the sharing of related information and data are also high on the agenda of the forum.

During the forum, “The World Pact for better basin management” is expected to be signed on March 16.
The Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to meet French Minister of Foreign and European Affairs responsible for Cooperation Henri de Raincourt and the European Commission for the Environment./.
