Vietnam attends ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting

A high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam People’s Army is attending the eighth ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM-8), which is held in Myanmar from May 19-21.

The delegation, led byDefence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh, includes Chief of theDefence Ministry Office Major General Vu Van Hien, Assistant to theminister Major General Ngo Quang Lien, and Director of the ministry’sForeign Relations Department Major General Vu Chien Thang, among others.

Attending the ADMM-8, Vietnam is to confirm itsactive, proactive and responsible participation in cooperative fieldswithin the framework of the meeting, and to continue fighting to protectthe national and regional interests on the basis of international lawand conventions.-VNA
