A delegation of the Supreme People’s Court led by Chief Judge Truong Hoa Binh attended the eighth Asia-Pacific Judicial Reform Forum in Vladivostok city, Russia, on October 2.

Addressing the event, Binh stressed the significance of the forum to economies in the Asia-Pacific region.

The forum gathered leading judicial officials from regional countries and representatives from relevant ministries and agencies, and businesses to exchange experience in order to promote justice, protect citizens’ rights and ensure economic security, he said.

Nguyen Duc Viet, Secretary of the Chief Judge, presented a report on the modernisation of the State’s role in regulating modern customs relationships.

Themed “national and international regulations on customs relations,” the forum focused on national economic integration and customs law, and coordination between countries in settling customs-related disputes.

The APR is held annually, except for 2014, by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.

This year’s event brought together representatives from Vietnam, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, China, Kazakhstan, the Philippines and the host country.-VNA
