Dhaka (VNA) – A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) participated in the 11th Congress of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) from October 28-31.

The CPV Central Committee sent a congratulatory message to the event.

The Congress underlined the significance of promoting the fight for the rights and interests of the working class as well as preventing religious extremism and terrorism for the building of a democratic and socialist society and the national reconciliation in Bangladesh.

Deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Nguyen Tuan Phong, who led the Vietnamese delegation to the congress, had working sessions with CPB leaders.

He informed the host about the recent socio-economic situation in Vietnam and highlighted the CPV guidelines on renovation and external affairs.

He also exchanged measures to enhance solidarity and friendship between the two countries and communist parties in particular.

CPB President Mujahidul Islam Selim and Secretary General Syed Abu Zafar referred to the strong solidarity and mutual assistance of the two parties in the past, stressing that they support the CPV external affairs policy.

The two leaders expressed their impression of the remarkable achievements that Vietnam has gained over the past 30 years of Doi Moi (renewal) process.

They said they hope to increase the solidarity, amity and cooperation between the two countries’ parties and peoples.

The Vietnamese guests also met with leaders from the Bangladesh People’s League, Workers Party, and Socialist Party.-VNA
