A Vietnamese delegation attended a seminar themed “Smart Learning for the Future of Asia” as part of the Asia Education Expo 2013 which took place in Singapore on November 20–22.

Sharing the view that education is the most important factor in national socio-economic development of every country, speakers focused discussions on the 21 st century challenges which the sector faces and its most recent methodological and practical attempts at adaptation.

Associate Professor Dr Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Vice Director of the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training’s Department of Secondary Education, said the seminar was of great significance to Vietnamese education administrators and teachers

He highlighted the education reform debates, applicable to Vietnam, that combine questions of teaching content and language.

The 2013 Singapore Education Exhibition featured almost 50 booths displaying teaching equipment and modern educational technology from companies and organisations based in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, China, and India.-VNA
