Vietnamese representatives are among the honoured guests at the 81st European Fair in the French city of Strasbourg.
The honour contributes to marking the 40 th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and France and acknowledges the ongoing year of exchange between the nations.
French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and Vietnam’s Ambassador to France Duong Chi Dung inaugurated a Vietnamese pavilion at the fair, which is taking place from September 6-16.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Dung said being invited to the fair proves the special relationship and mutual trust between Vietnam and France.
For his part, General Manager of the Strasbourg Convention and Exhibition Centre Claude Feurer expressed his pleasure to welcome the Vietnamese delegation as honoured guests during such an important year in the relationship between the two sides.
He said he hopes the fair will strengthen the two countries’ already strong bilateral relations.
The exhibition boasts a total of 1,100 pavilions showcasing products from the fields of industry, agriculture, food and interior design. Around 200,000 visitors are expected from different regions in France and other European countries.
Vietnam’s booth, located at the centre of the fair’s international village, has been decorated in a traditional Vietnamese style. Performances have been given there of Thang Long drumming and singing from the Central Highlands.-VNA
