Vietnamese Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien attended the Global Health Conference that took place in London on September 29-30.

The minister presented Vietnam ’s experiences in health policy making at the event, which was organised by BMJ Group, a UK provider of medical information and services, and NICE International to promote health policy making based on low-cost researches and seek measures to improve the health of people around the world.

The conference saw the attendance of government officials, researchers and donors from the US , the UK , Canada , Australia , India , the Republic of Korea , Japan , China , Thailand , Malaysia , Turkey and Vietnam .

Earlier, Tien held working sessions with the UK Department of Health, the Department for International Development and a number of non-governmental organisations such as Welcome Trust and NICE International.

During the talks, the UK Health Department and NGOs pledged to continue their technical and financial assistance for Vietnam in primary health care, maternal and child health care, and developing policies on health insurance and environmental sanitation./.
