A Vietnamese delegation led by Le Van Uy, Vice Director of the Ho Chi Minh City drug crime control department, is attending the Asian anti-drug conference in Malaysia.

Vietnam plans to incorporate anti-drug content into curricula at schools in order to provide knowledge on drugs, their harmful impacts and drug control measures, the Vietnamese chief delegate said.

Through the conference, his delegation wants to learn more about the regional countries’ experiences in preventing the social evil, particularly in-school drug use, he added.

The conference, held in Kuala Lumpur from Nov. 9-12, drew more than 200 delegates, including policy makers, experts on drug detoxification, religious leaders and former drug addicts from Asia and the Pacific.

Participants will discuss and share their countries’ experiences in the fight against drugs as well as detoxification and health rehabilitation for drug users.

The event is expected to help enhance cooperation between countries for a drug-free region./.
