Vietnam attends int’l tourism fair in Russia

Vietnam’s travel agencies, Amitour and An Viet, joined others from ASEAN countries in an international tourism fair held in Ekaterinburg city, central Sverdlovsk province of Russia, on Oct. 7-8.

Expotravel2011 was part of activities to mark the 15th anniversary of thedialogue partnership between Russia and ASEAN (1996-2011).

Addressingthe opening ceremony of the fair, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia PhamXuan Son, briefed about Vietnam ’s socio-economic development overthe past 20 years, highlighting the country’s economic growth and stablepolitical situation.

He affirmed that many Vietnamese people can speak Russian. They love Russia and wish to visit the country.

Thenumber of Russian visitors to Vietnam increases constantly and isexpected to reach 120,000 this year thanks to Vietnam’s visa exemptionfor Russian visitors who stay in Vietnam in less than 15 days./.

Vietnam Airlines Group offers nearly 2.2 million discounted domestic seats

Vietnam Airlines Group, comprising Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), will provide nearly 5.5 million seats on domestic routes from now until August 16 to meet peak summer travel demand, including around 2.2 million seats offered at promotional fares on various routes.
