Vietnam attends UMNO party congress

A delegation from Vietnam is attending the five-day congress of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), which began on October 21 in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia.

The delegation, led byNguyen The Trung, Deputy Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s MassMobilisation Commission, joined 21 other delegations from 20 countriesacross the world in the event.

They took a tour ofPutrajaya’s administrative centre, various businesses, and severalMalaysian cultural, fine art and handicrafts establishments.

The delegation also met with staff from Vietnam ’s Embassy andrepresentative agencies in Malaysia , to brief them on current affairsin Vietnam , including Hanoi ’s 1,000th anniversary and the floodsin the central region.

They then visited a number ofVietnamese guest workers in Malaysia to learn about their terms ofemployment and living conditions./.
