A Vietnamese delegation attended an international workshop honouring women war veterans, held in Centurion city, South Africa, on March 8 – 9.
The function was held under the theme “Women Military Veterans – Together Inspiring Change” by the South African Ministry of Defence and Military Veterans.
It drew 250 global women veterans who rendered services to their homelands’ struggles for independence.
Opening the workshop, South African Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula highlighted the role women veterans play in the cause of national liberation and social construction in countries around the world.
She also voiced her thanks to the international community, including Vietnam, for their support to her country’s struggle for the new South Africa today.
At the event, Luu Thi Thu Ha, a specialist of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered a report on Vietnamese women’s contribution to the country’s past wars for independence as well as the current national construction and defence.-VNA
