Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung on June 19 received a delegation of the Bangladeshi State Commission on Privatisation, led by its chairman Mirza Abdul Jalil.

The Deputy PM hailed the delegation’s visit to Vietnam , considering it a good opportunity for the two countries to share experiences and promote friendship and cooperation.

He briefed the delegation on the current situation for Vietnamese state-owned enterprises and outlined the goals of equitisation, including the mobilisation of more capital and human resources for production and business, changing modes of management and improving operational efficiency.

Deputy PM Hung highlighted the role of the State in the economy with a special focus on key industries, such as energy and telecommunications.

He said the Vietnamese State also accommodates other economic sectors in contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.

He went on to suggest that the State should target its efforts at helping domestic enterprises do business, as well as creating jobs and strengthening cooperation with foreign partners, so as to overcome difficulties due to the global financial crisis and economic recession.

Hung stressed that it is necessary to create a policy that creates favourable conditions for agricultural production.

For his part, the Bangladeshi official said his delegation wants to learn from Vietnam ’s experiences in equitisation.

He also spoke highly of the action plan by the Vietnamese government and other relevant agencies and expressed his belief that the country will rapidly recover from the impact of the current, global economic recession./.
