Vietnam won their fourth match at the ASEAN Football Federation Futsal Championship beating Thailand 2-0 on September 23 in Malaysia.

The Vietnamese take the top position of Group B with 12 points and will play Australia in the semi-final match on September 25.

Le Quoc Nam opened scoring at the 31st minute and Phung Trong Luan made it double just four minutes later.

Players of coach Bruno Forsomo unfortunately missed heaps of chances, including a penalty shoot by Bui Van Vu, which touched the right pole.

Head of Vietnam Futsal Team, Tran Anh Tu, said it was an impressive victory as it was the first ever time they had beaten the region's best rivals, who received two red cards this match.

Vietnam entered the semi-final round of the ASEAN Football Federation Futsal Championship following their third win in Malaysia on September 22.

Vietnam blasted Laos, 18-0, to make the final four following a 6-1 win over Myanmar and an 11-1 victory against the Philippines.

The event, which attracted the participation of 10 countries, will last until September 28.

Vietnam finished third at the same event last year.-VNA
