Vietnam won 2-0 over Malaysia in Group B of the U19 Southeast Asian Football Cup that opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Aug. 4.

The host team opened the score in the 48th minute and added the second goal in the 61 st minute, racking up three points in the competition.

The 11 Vietnamese boys will meet their rivals from Myanmar on Aug. 6, who netted 3 points when East Timor missed its first match on Aug. 4 and lost by default.

Also on the same day, two other matches in Group A took place. Thailand shut out Cambodia , 3-0, and Australia played to a draw against Singapore, 1 all./.
