Midfielder Nguyen Trong Hoang netted two goals in the first half after the hosts scored after just 15 minutes.
"Vietnamese defenders responded strongly to consistent attacks from Qatar . Our two goals showed great teamwork. Hoang played a solid match, however I think the whole team still needs to address some weaknesses," said Coach Nguyen Van Sy.
The Vietnamese squad will fly to Uzbekistan to face off with the host team in the 2015 Asian Cup qualifying third round for Group E on October 15.-VNA
