A delegation of more than 20 businesses made a working trip to the Netherlands from October 15-16 to seek business opportunities and promote bilateral trade in pepper.

The delegation was led by Deputy Chairwoman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA), Truong Thi Thong. Their working trip was part of the major national trade promotion programme of Vietnam .

During the visit, they had working sessions with the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) under the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and met with a number of Dutch businesses involving in pepper processing and distribution.

The visit helped Vietnamese businesses get a better grasp of the measures to increase pepper export turnover to Europe , as well as the criteria and procedures for Vietnamese exporters to join capacity building support projects.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , Vietnam fetched 18.5 million USD from pepper export to the Netherlands , a year-on-year increase of 12 percent.

In the first seven months of this year, the country’s pepper exports to the country reached nearly 12 million USD./.
