On June 17, Vietnam ’s Buddhist Institute held a ceremony to celebrate the end of its fifth training course for Buddhist monks and nuns from 2006 to 2010 and the beginning of the sixth from 2010 to 2014.
According to Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Central Committee and Institute’s Rector, more than 300 Buddhist monks and nuns graduated from the fifth course.
The sixth course will enrol 331 trainees for degrees and 27 others for college education.
The Vietnam Buddhist Institute, established in 1981, is the largest Buddhist education centre in the north of the country./.
