Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of National Defence and the Vietnam People’s Army’s General Staff always supports and facilitates cooperation between the ministry’s Department of Legal Affairs and its Cambodian counterpart, a Vietnamese officer has said.

Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong made the statement during his reception for the visiting Director of the Department of Legal Affairs under the Cambodian Defence Ministry, General Mam Sophat in Hanoi on July 6.

Lt. Gen. Huong suggested the two agencies enhance exchange of visits and professional experience sharing, towards performing well their role as advisors to the Defence Ministries in building legal documents on defence and military affairs.

Gen. Mam Sophat informed the host of outcomes of working sessions between the Cambodian delegation and representatives from the Vietnamese Defence Ministry’s Department of Legal Affairs and relevant agencies.

He said the Cambodian delegation’s visit focused on learning from Vietnam’s experience in building laws related to military officers and martial court system.

This is the first time the two departments have met and shared experience in their profession.-VNA
