Trade between Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses through border gates in the southern province of Tay Ninh hit nearly 700 million USD in the first eight months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 30 percent.

According to the provincial Steering Board for Border trade, in the period Vietnamese businesses exported almost 300 million USD worth of products to Cambodia up 20 percent year-on-year.

The board said that to facilitate cross-border trade between the two sides the province has focused on developing infrastructure and border markets and offered tax intensives to local residents.

Vietnam exports mainly, leather and plastic products, automobile rubber tube and tire and furniture to Cambodia and imports from the market fresh and dried cassava, soybean, rice, cattle, raw cashew nuts and food./.
