The inspection sectors of Vietnam and Cambodia will prioritise cooperation in training and improving professional competence of inspectors while increasing the exchange of experience in thematic inspections.

The consensus was reached during talks between a delegation from the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam and their counterparts from the Ministry of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection of Cambodia in Phnom Penh on August 7.

At the meeting, the officials held that collaboration between the two agencies have been enhanced practically, thus contributing to the traditional friendship between the two countries.

The two sides have maintained the exchange of high-ranking delegations and experience and supported each other in professional training, they said.

They also took the occasion to share experience on the settlement of complaints and denouncements as well as the fight against corruption in the respective countries.

Deputy Inspector General Tran Duc Luong, who led the Vietnamese delegation, and Secretary of State Chheng Saroeun, who headed the Cambodian side, agreed to continue amending the cooperative agreement reached by the two agencies.

Earlier, the Vietnamese inspectors were received by President of the Cambodian Senate Sai Chhum, who expressed his thanks to the Vietnam Government Inspectorate for supporting the Cambodian side over the past time.

The host suggested the two agencies step up their cooperation and contribute more to the traditional relations between the two countries.

During their stay in Cambodia from August 6-10, the Vietnamese inspectors will pay a courtesy visit to Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection Men Sam An and visit a number of localities in the country.-VNA
