Vietnam, Cambodia increase military exchanges

General Dung said following cooperation agreementsbetween the two countries and two defence ministries, Vietnam andCambodia army forces have conducted visits to exchange experiences.

Vietnam ’s General Politics Department andCambodia ’s General Department of Defence Services have cooperated instaff training and security protection, Dung said.

In the future, the General Politics Department of the VietnamPeople’s Army will help train staff of Cambodian Royal Armed Force’sgendarmerie, he said.

General Neang Phatexpressed his hope that the traditional friendship and cooperationbetween the two countries and two armed forces would continue todevelop.

General Dung and his entourage havealso met with Prime Minister Hun Sen and Deputy Prime Minister andDefence Minister, General Tea Banh.

As planned, theVietnamese delegation will visit Cambodia ’s High Command of Guardand Riem military base in Preah Sihanouk province./.
