Lieutenant-General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, received on October 2 a delegation from the Royal Cambodian Army, led by General Nop Ratana, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, in Hanoi.

Lt. Gen. Tuan welcomed the visit, saying that it has great significance at a time when the two countries just marked the 45 th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and are still celebrating the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year.

The visit will help strengthen solidarity, good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in general and between the two armies in particular, Tuan added.

Nop Ratana, who is also Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army’s Artillery, briefed Tuan on the outcomes of his talks with Major-General Nguyen Van Con, Commander of Artillery Arm of the Vietnam People’s Army. He said the two sides agree to further their cooperation and experience sharing.-VNA
