The Vietnamese Party, State and people always treasure and hope to further the all-around cooperation with Canada for the interest of the two peoples and for the sake of global peace, stability and development.

This was said by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu in Hanoi on Sept. 9 while receiving the Canada-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group and Canadian businesses led by Deputy Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons Barry Devolin.

Hailing the effective assistance from the Canadian Government, Parliament and people, Vice Chairman Luu stressed that activities by both countries to celebrate the 40 th anniversary of their diplomatic ties have contributed to enhancing their mutual understanding and friendship.

The Vietnamese host also praised the group for its remarkable contributions to tightening bilateral cooperation and promoting two-way trade between the two countries.

For his part, the Canadian guest underlined that the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Canada have been incessantly fostered and advanced in every sphere over the past years.

He suggested both nations continue expanding their cooperation in trade, agriculture, education, labour and high technology.-VNA
