Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh hosted a reception in Hanoi on December 29 for Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Lin Yi and the two countries’ delegates to the seventh Vietnam-China People’s Forum.

Minh congratulated the delegates for the success of the forum, affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to consolidating and intensifying its neighbourly friendship and comprehensive cooperation with China .

He suggested the Chinese association and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) continue holding exchange activities in order to help consolidate the bilateral time-honoured friendship, boost collaboration, well control disputes, maintain peace and stability in the East Sea , thus contributing to developing the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Lin Yi, in turn, confirmed that China also treasures its relations with Vietnam .

Her association will continue close coordination with the VUFO in organising people-to-people exchanges in order to help promote the bilateral ties, she added.-VNA
