The Vietnam-China Youth Festival will take place in China’s Guangxi province from August 25-29.
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee held a press briefing on the event in Hanoi on August 16.
Themed “Vietnamese and Chinese youths join hands to foster friendship”, the festival is expected to attract 3,000 Vietnamese young delegates and 7,300 outstanding young people from host China .
The Vietnamese delegation, to be divided into seven groups, will take part in main activities in seven cities, namely Liuzhou , Guilin , Beihai, Qinzhou, Fangchenggang, Baise, Chongzuo before joining Chinese delegates in official activities in Nanning .
The activities will include a kick-off ceremony of the festival at the Huu Nghi Border Gate, activities to follow Uncle Ho’s steps, and a seminar on young people’s business start-up and strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ youths.
They will visit several relics that are associated with Vietnam ’s revolutionary history, join exchanges with local peers and take part in activities to protect the environment.
In Nanning city, the Vietnamese youths will meet with the two countries’ Party and State leaders and attend a seminar entitled “Vietnamese and Chinese youths join hands to foster friendship” and a “friendship tree planting” programme.
They are expected to join the Chinese peers to approve the Vietnam-China Youth Friendship Statement and attend a gala night during which they will hear letters of congratulations of the General Secretaries of the Communist Parties of Vietnam and China and enjoy a special art programme staged by the two countries’ youths.
The Vietnam-China Youth Festival is a practical activity aimed at fostering the friendship, mutual understanding and trust between the two countries’ young generations and peoples, helping strengthen the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and China./.
